There are 3 legs to the stool that make up the foundation of the American Canine Club, however, we believe the best companion dogs are developed by individuals who practice their ABC's as well as their ABT's.
ABT stands for Always Be Training, which is the name of the Club's Dog Training and Instruction. The concept of "Always Be Training" is key to successful results because whether a dog owner is aware of it or not, dogs are ALWAYS LEARNING. But equally important is practicing your ABC's, which means Always Be Consistent.
The key word that links this together, is the word
"THE 3 LEGS OF THE STOOL THAT MAKE UP THE FOUNDATION OF THE
AMERICAN CANINE CLUB ARE...
1. Teaching dogs wanted behaviors.
2. Teaching proper dog owner handling as well as ownership responsibilities.
3. Saving dogs from being euthanized. There’s much more to our organization, but none of it would exist without staying focused on these 3 basic legs of our FOUNDATION.
Lets talk about the 3rd leg first. The inception of our organization was fueled by wanting to do something tangible to help reduce the number of healthy dogs euthanized annually in America. So, one thing we want to do is purchase unwanted dogs from humane societies, shelters and/or rescue clubs. Once in our possession we care for these dogs, properly socialize them, train them to CGC Certification and then find good, loving homes for them. This is the ROOT of our existence and as we continue to grow, we will never forget or abandon our ROOTS.
SAVING AS MANY UNWANTED HEALTHY DOGS FROM BEING ETHANIZED
WILL ALWAYS BE OUR CORNERSTONE!!!!
The other two legs of the stool, making up the foundation of our organization, centers around “EDUCATION.” The education of dogs, as well as dog owners are equally important. The best way to address proper education of dogs and their owners is to make sure our teachers/trainers are “THE BEST.”
Our teachers/trainers have years of training experienced solidified with a Certified Diploma Recognizing Them As Professional Dog Trainers and Instructors, or they are in our apprenticeship program working on that certification.
The techniques used in our program are all based upon POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT, supported by DOG PSYCHOLOGY AND MINOR BEHAVIORAL MODIFICATION. In addition to their dog training certifications, some of our trainer’s experiences have been positively influenced by working with dogs and people from the military community, law enforcement community and correctional facilities. Some have worked directly with service dogs specializing in areas such as the foundational training of dogs for the visually impaired. The advantages of having a trainer with this type of knowledge and experience for basic obedience training, means they offer a unique skill set difficult to match anywhere else in the industry, and at no additional cost to our basic training that we are so proud of.
Not only are we dedicated to saving dogs, training dogs and helping dog owners learn great dog handling techniques, but because our trainers possess such unique skills, we can also provide professional specialized training in a variety of service areas too. We offer what we call FOUNDATIONAL SERVICE DOG TRAINING, which assists dogs in their first steps toward becoming a therapy dog, protection dog or even a service dog. In addition, we have comprehensive training ranging from obedience, advanced obedience, agility, field, freestyle, tracking, show, aggression issues and more. Lastly, if you are only interested in basic obedience training, that is great too, we are extremely happy to oblige any needs and interest that provides a great life for the dog along with a content companionship level each owner desires.
WE JUST DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANY MORE HEALTHY DOGS DESTROYED.
We look forward to meeting you, your family and of course your dog if you’ve already chosen one. If you haven’t purchased a dog yet, please contact us to learn about our 3 stage, HUMAN-DOG AWARENESS AND OWNERSHIP PROGRAM.” We offer to help people with their decision to find the best suited dog for them and their family.
